H23 Foundation · Est. 2026

In her Honor,
we will save
others.

A UK charitable foundation fighting ketamine addiction.

In February 2026, we lost Honor to suicide following a battle with ketamine addiction. She was bright, loved, and let down by a system that didn't recognise the danger until it was too late. H23 Foundation exists to change that.

Honor's Message

Watch the video that started a movement — and learn why H23 Foundation exists.

Ketamine addiction among young people is a growing crisis hiding in plain sight. Unlike alcohol or vaping, most parents don't know the signs. Most schools don't teach it. Most GPs don't screen for it.

H23 Foundation is built on four pillars: Awareness, Education, Family Support, and Advocacy. We will carry Honor's story into every school, every family, and every conversation that needs it.

This is Honor's legacy. And it starts now.

Honor Forrest

A beloved daughter, sister, and friend. Bright, funny, deeply loved.

Her Story

Honor was everything a parent could hope for — full of life, laughter, and love. From the little girl who ran towards everything with joy, to the young woman who lit up every room she entered, she was extraordinary.

In February 2026, we lost her to suicide, following a battle with ketamine addiction. She was let down by a system that didn't recognise the danger until it was too late. Most parents don't know the signs. Most schools don't teach it. Most GPs don't screen for it.

We didn't know. And that is something we will carry forever. But we refuse to let Honor's story end there.

H23 Foundation was born from that grief — and from a fierce determination that no other family should go through what we are going through.

"In her Honor, we will save others."

The Four Pillars of H23

Everything we do is built on these foundations.

01
Awareness

Honor's story has the power to reach millions. We will use it — through every platform available — to bring ketamine addiction out of the shadows.

  • Social media campaigns
  • Short films & documentaries
  • Podcasts
  • Community events
  • Annual H23 Awareness Day
Goal: Make ketamine addiction as recognised as alcohol and vaping risks.
02
Education

The H23 School Programme will go directly into secondary schools — equipping students, parents, and teachers with the knowledge to recognise and respond.

  • Secondary school assemblies
  • Parent evenings
  • Teacher training resources
  • Signs of use & addiction
  • Mental health & bladder impacts
  • Where to get help
Goal: Reach 10,000+ students in the first year.
03
Family Support

No parent should face this alone. H23 will build a network of support, resources, and human connection for families navigating ketamine addiction.

  • Online support groups
  • Resource library
  • Parent handbook
  • Directory of support services
  • Peer support network
  • H23 Family Champions programme
Goal: No family faces this in silence.
04
Advocacy

We will campaign at every level — from GP surgeries to Parliament — to force the systemic change that could have saved Honor, and will save others.

  • Better school education nationally
  • Faster referral pathways
  • Improved addiction services
  • GP & CAMHS awareness
  • More research into ketamine addiction
Goal: Honor's lasting legacy — national systemic change.

What To Do If You Suspect Ketamine Addiction

Immediate steps

  • Stay calm and approach without confrontation — shame makes addiction worse
  • See your GP and specifically request a referral to a drug and alcohol service
  • Ask about bladder damage — push for a urology referral if there is pain or urinary issues
  • Contact your local drug and alcohol team — you can self-refer without a GP
  • Call FRANK on 0300 123 6600 for free, confidential advice on next steps

What your GP should offer

  • Referral to a structured treatment programme — not just pain relief
  • Referral to a urology specialist if bladder symptoms are present
  • Mental health support — ketamine addiction often involves underlying trauma
  • Access to a 12-step programme or structured rehabilitation pathway
  • If your GP is not forthcoming — ask to see a different GP or contact your local drug service directly

The Hidden Crisis

What Ketamine Does To Your Mind

This is what we wish we had known. This is what nobody told us. This is why Honor is gone.

"Every time she stopped taking ketamine, she was in so much mental and physical pain that she couldn't see a way out. She couldn't imagine a life without it — but she also couldn't continue the life she was living."

— Honor's mother

What it does to the brain

  • ·Research shows long-term ketamine use causes measurable loss of grey matter — the part of the brain that controls thinking, emotion, and decision-making
  • ·It disrupts dopamine and serotonin — the brain's natural happiness chemicals — making it progressively harder to feel joy, connection, or motivation without the drug
  • ·Over time, the brain essentially rewires itself around ketamine — normal life begins to feel unbearable without it
  • ·Memory, concentration, and the ability to feel emotions are all progressively impaired — effects that can persist long after stopping

What withdrawal feels like

  • ·Severe depression and anxiety — often far worse than before the addiction began
  • ·Complete inability to feel pleasure — a condition called anhedonia, where nothing feels enjoyable or worthwhile
  • ·Intense cravings, insomnia, and overwhelming psychological pain
  • ·Suicidal thoughts — the pain of withdrawal, combined with hopelessness, makes this a very real and very serious risk that must be taken seriously immediately

If you are a young person reading this

When you take ketamine recreationally, it feels manageable. It feels like a choice. But with every use, your brain is quietly changing — and at some point, what began as a choice becomes something your brain feels it cannot survive without.

The danger of ketamine is not just what it does to your bladder. It is what it does to your ability to feel happiness, connection, and hope. Young people who become addicted often reach a point where they cannot imagine feeling okay without it — and cannot imagine continuing to live with it.

This is what happened to Honor. And it is why H23 Foundation exists.

If you are struggling right now — please reach out.

Recovery is possible. The brain can heal. But you cannot do this alone — and you should not have to.

Medical Information

Ketamine & Bladder Damage

One of the least-discussed but most serious consequences of ketamine addiction is severe bladder damage — known as ketamine-induced uropathy. GPs often treat the pain symptoms without addressing the underlying cause. Here is what you need to know.

Warning signs

  • ·Needing to urinate very frequently
  • ·Severe pain in the lower abdomen
  • ·Blood in the urine
  • ·Difficulty holding urine
  • ·Reduced bladder capacity

What to ask for

  • Ask your GP for an urgent urology referral
  • The NHS opened the UK's first ketamine bladder clinic for young people in July 2025
  • Stopping ketamine use can halt — and sometimes partially reverse — bladder damage
  • Do not accept pain relief alone — push for specialist care
